ALMOST 90% OF ALL PEOPLE WITH NEWLY DIAGNOSED TYPE 2 DIABETES ARE OVERWEIGHT. ARE YOU?
You can actually prevent or delay the development of type 2 diabetes by changing your lifestyle, i.e., your eating habits and regular exercise. A recent study, the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), proved that type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed by keeping weight in control and by increasing physical activity. The DPP participants were adults who were clearly headed toward type 2 diabetes. The participants who exercised and lost 5-7 % of their body weight (10 - 15 pounds), reduced their progression toward diabetes by 58% during the study. Regardless of your current weight, won't you make it a priority to lose 10 - 15 pounds to avoid developing diabetes?!

Exercise
.! It helps you to:
Handle stress
Boost your outlook on life
be happier!
Reduce your risk of hypertension, high cholesterol and heart disease.
Keep your blood glucose levels in check.
Any kind of exercise is a good start. Wash the car. Walk your dog. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Take the first step and build up to 30 minutes of physical activity you need five days a week.
If diet and exercise are not working to reduce your weight, ask you health care provider about prescription medicines than may help.
Only a medical professional can determine if you have diabetes. See a doctor and find out for sure.
